Liverpool Player Rating Predictions - Martin Skrtel

FIFA 14 Coins at Liverpool was very good in general, although he wasn’t always 100 per cent convincing between the sticks. His penalty save on the opening weekend against Stoke made him an instant hero- his sensational late stop from Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin last weekend was another key opening weekend moment from the Belgian- but errors in key matches against Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa around Christmas time saw his form dip.

Despite this, the 26-year-old’s ratings will still almost certainly increase, as he has shown he can cut it at a massive club, and has enjoyed some influential moments along the way.

FIFA Coins IOS is the undisputed number one at Anfield, with Pepe Reina now at Bayern Munich and Brad Jones nowhere near as good, and his shot-stopping ability, in particular, make him an important member of Rodgers’ team.

Skrtel enjoyed an excellent 2013/14 campaign, having responded admirably to losing his place to the ageing Jamie Carragher the previous year. The 29-year-old was comfortably Liverpool’s best defender- admittedly he was the best of a largely bad bunch- and his seven league goals made him the league’s highest scoring defender.

The Slovakia captain will likely see his rating improve slightly, but it won’t go overboard because there are still question marks about just how good a defender he is. Some feel his goals last season masked some fairly inconsistent performances at the other end of the pitch.

Runescape 3 Gold looks set to be first-choice at Anfield alongside Lovren this season, and his pace and power should complement the Croatian’s more aesthetically-pleasing style well. Aerially he is a beast, and he could be a lethal weapon from corners on FIFA 15.
