U20 World Cup call for Vulivuli

FIJI'S top female whistle blower Finau Vulivuli will add another feather to her FIFA 14 Coins when she officiates at the FIFA under-20 Women's World Cup in Canada in August.

Vulivuli has been named from the Oceania region to referee at the tournament along with New Zealand assistant referees Jacqueline Stephenson and Sarah Walker.

The 32-year-old has been on the FIFA match official's panel since 2008. She has officiated at the FIFA U17 World Cups in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

In 2011 Vulivuli officiated at the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Vulivuli told the Oceania Football Confederation website that she was excited about the appointment.

"Although excited and ecstatic, I feel humbled as usual," she said.

"It is a great sense of responsibility. On a personal level I'm delighted and satisfied that upon completion of this tournament I would have officiated at all levels of competitions from the national, regional and international level."

"Training is at least five times a week and I try to strictly follow the monthly training program sent by the FIFA referees department.

"This usually includes speed endurance, strength training, high intensity tempo runs, agility and core stability exercises as well as reactivity and plyometric training."

Vulivuli is expected to officiate at the Vodafone Fiji FACT in Nausori next month.

"As a FIFA referee I must be prepared at all times for any appointment at the national, regional or international level," she said.

"However upon being appointed to a FIFA event I try to increase my speed training and spend as much time analysing video clips as well as working with my colleagues and national instructors in perfecting areas of refereeing that need improvement."

The FIFA U20 Women's World Cup will be held from Fifa 14 Ultimate Team Coins .
