Fifa to introduce goal line technology

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil will see the introduction of goal line technology, Fifa President Sepp Blatter says -- Fifa 14 Ultimate Team Coins

The technology has become increasingly necessary following controversial decisions especially in the last World Cup in South Africa.

Many teams have been denied victories in important matches due to either the incompetence of match officials or genuine mistakes but Fifa until now have rejected the introduction of technology claiming it diminishes the human nature of the game which it so wants to protect.

However with even more investments being pumped into the game to somewhat guarantee success Fifa with its unwavering President have decided to soften their stands on the issue.

“Brazil 2014 will have technology to avoid ‘phantom goals,’ Blatter said.

“We have two good systems which correspond to the needs we have been considering: reliability, immediacy and [methods that are] uncomplicated to use.”

The news will definitely induce a positive reaction especially from teams who have suffered from the lack of technology especially England who in the last World Cup were denied an important equalizer against Germany when the referee failed to award a goal after replays eventually showed Frank Lampard’s FIFA 14 Coins had clearly crossed the line.
